Meltham All Blacks Under 8’s – Away at Wibsey

Wibsey 10 -  Meltham 32

One for all and all for one!!  Meltham under 8's travelled to Wibsey and gave the warriors a battle to remember.  Yet again it was another freezing cold Sunday and credit goes to every lad or lass that puts on a Meltham shirt and shorts in the brass monkey weather.

Meltham's Alex 'the tank' Zatorski was over for an early score (most improved award) after an excellent forward's drive, going low from 5 metres out, the defence had no way of stopping his progress (0-6). Another forward who works hard every week, Christian Pestell not to be outdone made it 10-0 to the visitors.  The warriors tried hard, but under heavy mud and slippery conditions knock-ons were plenty from both sides.  Meltham were always in control and always looked like coming away victors.  Jack Clifford with great pace, and Darren Walker took the all blacks into a comprehensive lead at half time (0-18).

In the second half, the power and pace for the all blacks were subbed and the likes of Ryan 'I've lost my boots in the mud' White (player of the

week) was heavily involved in tackling and driving the ball forward.  Lewis Bull, Jordan James, Molly Doyle and Carl Sykes all showed character and an amazing fighting spirit and grow in confidence week by week.

Jack Clifford went over again, converted by George Sykes-Kenworthy (man of the match).  George was all over the park today, awesome tackling, strong confident running and nearly top tackler.  Jordan Williams (top tackler

award) was as usual a tackling demon covering from one side of the field to the other.  Wibsey showed flair when they scored under the posts (4-24) but Williams put the game out of reach with his contribution (4-28).  Wibsey looked dead and buried but kept going to make it 10-28.  George Sykes-Kenwothy finished the match off with a well deserved try (10-32).

The All Blacks are back in form, and are looking forward to next week's opposition, at Meltham against local rivals Newsome Panthers.

Meltham All Blacks Under 12’s – Home to West Bowling

Meltham 24 - West Bowling 4

Meltham cruised into the final of the supplementary cup by completely dominating a spirited but outclassed West Bowling.

The game was played in what can only be described as terrible conditions but it didn’t seam to affect the Meltham side as they started the game showing that they meant business. The first try was scored after a powerful break from Patrick Diavewa, the ball was passed along the line to Connor Robertson who was held just short, from the resulting play of the ball George king darted over from acting half back. West Bowling soon hit back to bring the score to within 2 points.

This proved to be the only highlight for Bowling as the All Blacks stepped up a gear to take total control of the game. The next try was scored just before the break when George King picked up the ball from the base of the scrum and raced 80 meters to the line Half time 12 points to 4.

Daniel Hirst was next to score with a great individual effort. Soon after George King completed his hatrick. The final try  came after some great handling was finished off by Jack Thompson.

Top Tackler and Man of the match was George King
