Meltham All Blacks Under 10’s – Away at Halifax

Halifax 16 – Meltham 18

The under 10’s started the New Year with a well deserved victory away at Halifax Vandals. Frazer Morris returning to the team following injury led the team out onto a heavy pitch. The wet and blustery conditions prevented either team playing flowing rugby and the game consisted mainly of a battle between the forwards.

Meltham’s defence was again the key to the All Blacks victory with some very courageous tackling against the big lads of Halifax, in particular from Man of the Match Jordan McDonald whose defensive work combined with his forward driving thoroughly deserved the award

Player of the week was awarded to Antony Barker who had his best game of the season so far, making invaluable forward gains for the All Blacks.

In a tight game Meltham maintained the lead throughout the match, but  Halifax scored a try with the last play of the game to reduce the deficit to 2 points.

Tries were scored by Luke Pogson (3) and Elliot Currid
